Steven Estok Studio Director Steven Estok’s role as the studio’s director draws on his diverse professional experience in the art world and media industry. Estok, a former art gallery owner, curator and print publisher, has worked at art magazines in New York and Paris, and has written about artists Claude Cahun and Sophie Calle among others. His media career has included magazine, website and television marketing at People, Real Simple and Time Inc. Estok received a Master of Arts in French from Middlebury College and Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing from The New School. His Middlebury thesis examined the relationship between the art and architecture of three Parisian museums: the Louvre, the Musée d’Orsay and the Pompidou Center. He is the treasurer of Friends of e.1027, a non-profit organization dedicated to the restoration of Eileen Gray’s seminal modernist house in the south of France and raising awareness of Gray’s contributions to architecture and design.
